Starfruit

Starfruit can be sweet if very ripe or a bit sour if a little underripe. The juicy fruit gets its name from the star shape it takes when sliced horizontally. Typically used in baking, cooking, or fresh.

Starfruit is associated with antioxidant, hypoglycemic, hypocholesterolemic, anti-inflammatory, cardiovascular, antitumor, and immune boosting effects.

On the other hand, starfruit ingestion has also been shown to cause nephrotoxicity and neurotoxicity, so eat in moderation.
