Acerola Cherry

Acerola cherry has a taste that is hard to describe, but I’d say tart with a small mix of sour and sweet together. There is a seed in the middle that is quite pithy, yet edible, so discard or eat, it’s up to you. They are best eaten as fresh as possible and do not keep long in the fridge so consume quickly for the best experience! Typically used fresh or juiced.

Acerola Cherry contains 50 - 100 times the vitamin C content by weight compared to an orange or lemon. Three Acerola Cherries per day can satisfy the recommended daily amount of vitamin C for an adult. Acerola also contains vitamin A, vitamins B1 and B2, niacin, iron, phosphorus and calcium.
