Beet

Beets are an earthy tasting, juicy root with lots of colors! Fun fact, beets and Swiss chard are basically the same plant, just one is bred for big leaves and one is bred for big roots! That being said, the leaves are totally edible and basically a mini-Swiss chard. Typically used fresh or cooked.


Beets are associated with potential antioxidant and antitumor properties, lowering blood pressure, and improved exercise performance.
