Hey There!
My name is Ellie and welcome to The Growcery Store!

Everything I grow is grown without pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or chemical fertilizers, and is grown right here in Mount Dora. I also offer classes in my renovated 2008 Thomas school bus on gardening, arts & crafts, foodie events, essential oils and more. If you can’t make it out to the bus, let me come to you with an at-home backyard edible landscaping and gardening consultation and I can teach you how to grow your own food!
Proudly serving the Central Florida area and excited to help you on your growing journey!🌱
About Me
I’ve been growing food for the past eight years. What started out as a small garden bed in the backyard has transformed into a full blown garden installation business. When I was 20, I graduated from The Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology to be a hairstylist and then did absolutely nothing with my license because I fell pregnant just a few months later. Being a full time mom ate up nearly every second of my life for the first few years, but in my few moments of downtime, I started gardening. It was a hobby, and a hobby I wasn’t very good at. Almost everything I grew just died without telling me why, but with every thing that I did wrong, I learned just another way of not doing things the next time, and over time, I got better at it. Eventually, I went from full time mom to full time single mom, and then I got scared. I started taking my hobby more seriously, because that hobby could make us food, and that’s important when money is tight. At this point, I had been gardening a few years, and after a long period of focus and study, I started a garden installation company, bringing the ability to grow your own food to the community. This was only half the equation, however, as installing was only the beginning; education to then successfully care for the garden was also necessary. This would require a classroom, however, and buildings were expensive and rent wasn’t cheap. So I bought an old school bus, gutted it out with a friend of mine, and built a classroom inside of it, and now here we are today! Welcome to The Growcery Store!
